Meet The Team

Rene L. Robles

Rene grew up in the Inland Empire in a Hispanic military family where she leaned early on pride, patriotism, economic struggle, and the importance of family and community. These experiences shaped her personality, which led to her passion for helping and caring for others who cannot always care for themselves.

For 20 years she worked as a speech language pathologist at a school district in the Inland Empire. This is where she was an advocate for justice related to students with learning, speech, and pragmatic challenges.  Wanting to do more than could be offered in a school environment, Rene founded Five Oaks Speech Therapy Services in 2015. Her principle that care comes first is firmly embedded in the employees and the culture of the company.

Rene graduated from the University of Redlands with a Master of Science degree in communicative disorders and holds a certificate of clinical competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association. She is an accomplished leader, mentor, and educator who regularly speaks on topics related to entrepreneurship, speech and language business opportunities, and patient care in today’s healthcare environment.

Cristina Ramos

The first-born daughter of immigrant parents and a first-generation Mexican American, Cris was born and raised in the Inland Empire. From a very young age, she understood the great sacrifices her family made which shaped her work ethic and determination. She worked in various cities across the IE as a young adult, striving to complete her education, to become the first in her family to graduate college.

Cris obtained her Associate of Arts degree from San Bernardino Valley College and then earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication sciences and disorders from Loma Linda University Medical Center. She practiced as a speech language pathology assistant prior to becoming a speech language pathologist (SLP), which greatly influenced her treatment style and understanding of therapy.

During the initial years of her career, as a speech language pathologist, she worked in a variety of settings including outpatient rehab, inpatient acute care, and in-home settings. Cris realized her true calling was in private practice. She jumped at the opportunity to join Rene in opening up the first brick and mortar location for Five Oaks Speech Therapy Services.

Today, Cris focuses on supervision and mentorship. As a bilingual SLP, Cris continues to see the need for similar individuals in the field. She is an asset to these students and clinicians by providing opportunities for mentorship within the private practice setting.

As a mother of two young daughters, Cris understands the importance of representation. Hispanic women entrepreneurs continue to be a small percentage in the healthcare industry and her aim is to no longer be the exception but the rule.
